Fitness equipment in H&F Parks

The outdoor gym in Bishops Park

Six of our parks and open spaces are home to outdoor fitness equipment that’s free for anyone to use.

The parks have a mix of moving and static items designed to test balance, core strength, stamina, and strength.

South Park

Peterborough Road, Fulham, SW6 3EB

This park’s gym has step up, dip, pull up, sit up and cycle stations. It also has a surfer, leg press, body twist, skier, space walker and rower.

There is accessible hand bike and chest press, lat pull combo equipment.

Bishops Park

Bishop’s Avenue, Fulham, SW6 6EA

This park’s gym has a step jumper, calisthenics and weights station. It also has an accessible hand bike.

Rowberry Mead

Thames Pathway, Fulham, SW6 6PE

This is H&F’s smallest park gym and the equipment focuses on strength based workouts.

The site has dip bars, push up bars and pull up bars.

Normand Park

Bramber Road, Fulham, W14 9PB

This is H&F’s largest gym. It has a wide mix of equipment and is next to a sprint track.

Equipment includes a rower, parallel bars, a cross trainer, leg press, arm swirl and calisthenics station.

Upper Mall Open Space

Upper Mall, Hammersmith, W6 9TD

This gym overlooks the Thames and has a cardio focus.

The gym has a rower, sit up station and pedal bike.

Wormwood Scrubs

White City, W12 0DF

There are two gyms on the Scrubs, one outside the Linford Christie Stadium and one by Braybrook Street.

Braybrook Street’s gym includes an air walker, rower, hip twist and chest press equipment.

Linford Christie Stadium’s gym has leg stretch, dip station and hyperextension bench. It is also the only H&F outdoor gym to have high bars and high ring apparatus.

Health and safety guidelines

Please read these guidelines before using the equipment.

  • If you are in any doubt about your health or level of physical fitness consult a doctor or fitness professional before using the equipment.
  • Users of this equipment do so at their own risk, Hammersmith & Fulham Council does not accept any liability for loss or injury caused by using the equipment.
  • Users should be 1.4m tall.
  • Children must be adequately supervised by an adult. This is not play equipment.
  • Read the instruction on each piece of equipment before use.
  • Include in your exercise routine a warm-up or cool down session, allowing 5-10 minutes to stretch before and after your session.
  • Stop if you feel faint or dizzy. Do not use under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Do not use any equipment if it appears damaged or is malfunctioning. Please report it to us via 0208 748 3020 or parks@lbhf.gov.uk or ‘report it’ link.
  • In the interest of safety, please do not bring dogs, glass or alcohol into the area.
