Hammersmith & Fulham is rolling out the purple carpet all weekend long for King Charles III’s Coronation.

The historic coronation, the first in 70 years, is taking place on Saturday 6 May, and we have a whole weekend of fun planned to celebrate the royal bank holiday.

King Street Coronation Party

To kickstart the weekend, join us on the most royal road in H&F – King Street – on Saturday 6 May.

The King Street Coronation Party, in Lyric Square and along King Street, is running from 11am to 6pm with more than 100 stalls selling art, plants, home décor, food from around the world and more.

That’s not all. The family fun day also includes a Mad Hatters tea party and a crown making workshop, as well as live music and dancing throughout the day.

Acts range from the Hammersmith Morris Men, to dynamic duo Jenny and David and local favourite Layla Mai Knight.

And don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled while browsing the stalls for an incredibly tall tea lady, a grumpy Queen Victoria, the cavalry and a pair of pompous footmen.

To top it off, the coronation will be shown live on a big screen in Lyric Square.

Party in our parks

On Sunday 7 May, we’ll be continuing the fun in Ravenscourt Park, Hammersmith, and Bishops Park, Fulham, with our Big Coronation Lunches. Each celebration is running from midday to late.

Bishops Park

In Bishops Park, for the little ones, there'll be crown making with Paperbird Arts, face painting, bubbles with JoJoFun and funfair rides.

The family fun doesn’t stop there. From giant board games and drone flying with Urban Flyers, to sport sessions with Fulham Football Club and martial arts with Reflect CKD. There’ll be something for everyone.

Live entertainment will take place throughout the day, including dance workshops and the Fulham Brass Band.

Ravenscourt Park

In Ravenscourt Park, the youngest coronation fans can enjoy pony ride, crown making with Kite Studios, face paint, games and more.

And for older visitors there’s sports sessions with QPR Football Club, giant Jenga, and even more martial arts with Reflect CKD and drones to fly with Urban Flyers.

Soundtracking your afternoon of food and fun is Bunny Nightingale and the Ukrainian Choir performing live on stage throughout the day.

We’ll be showing the Coronation Concert in both parks on big screens.

Tickle your tastebuds

Also on offer will be tasty delights from Urban Food Fest, including Mexican tacos and burritos, wood-fire pizzas, gourmet burgers, hotdogs, toasted sandwiches and steak and chips.

For those looking for a sweet treat, keep an eye out for the gelato, cake and cookie stands.

And to quench your thirst, a vintage bar selling beers, cocktails, gin and Pimm’s.

Hold your very own street party

The deadline for applications for street parties to celebrate King Charles III's Coronation on 6 May 2023 was 15 April 2023.

More than 40 roads have already signed up – from Tunis Road in Shepherds Bush to Breer Street in Fulham.

Visit our Google Map to view them all.

We’ll be sending photographers round to snap as many as possible for our archives, so don’t forget to dust off your finest red, white and blue bunting.
