Looking for something free and fun to do with your kids this spring?

From this Saturday (22 April), the whole family can get creative and learn together at one of our Saturday courses. They’re held at the Macbeth Centre in Macbeth Street, Hammersmith (just near Hammersmith Town Hall).

Our popular Saturday courses fill up quickly. So to reserve your place, call 020 8753 3600 and book now. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the workshops.

The Macbeth Centre is home to our Adult Learning service. It’s a great chance for you to ask about any of our 450+ fun and educational courses, ranging from pottery to piano or language classes.

Best for little ones

Paper puppetry workshops

You and your kids can get creative together and make puppets out of paper. Then learn storytelling techniques and create a mini performance using your creations.

  • Dates: 13 May, 10 June and 1 July
  • Time: From 10am to noon
  • Age range: 4-11 years old

Shadow theatre workshops

This fun, imaginative class teaches your little ones how to create shadow theatre out of cardboard.

  • Dates: 22 April, 20 May, 17 June and 8 July
  • Time: From 10am to 12 noon
  • Age range: 4-11 years old

Great for older kids

Upcycling: three-week course

Bring in tired old clothes – like jeans or t-shirts – and upcycle them using fabric paint, sew on appliqués, block printing, screen printing, hand-made pom-poms and tassels, hand-stitching methods, fabric patches and stencilling. 

  • Dates: Three-week course starts 1 April, then 22 and 29 April.
  • Next course start dates: 13 May, 10 June, and 1 July
  • Time: From 10am to noon
  • Age range: 6-18 years old

One-to-one piano lessons

Families can learn together in a 30-minute piano lessons.

  • Date: 22 April
  • Time: From 10am to 12 noon (30-minute slot)
  • Age range: 6-18 years old

Fight like a girl

This self-defence course will help girls feel safe and teach them how to manage any potentially dangerous situation.

  • Dates: 22 April, 13 and 27 May, 17 June and 1 July
  • Time: From 10am to 12 noon
  • Age range: 10-18 years old (women and girls only)

Just for grown ups

If you want to level up your own learning and leave the little ones at home, the Macbeth Centre also hosts plenty of classes just for adults.
