All adults in a household are able to buy a residents' first permit. However, any resident requiring a permit for a second vehicle registered in his or her name would have to buy a second permit at a higher cost.
First vehicle permit
- 6 months - £71
- 12 months - £119.
- 12 month lower emission vehicle - £60
- Free for fully electric vehicles
To qualify for the lower emission vehicle permit your vehicle must not produce more than 100g/km of CO2 and be Euro 5 compliant.

How to pay
Online as part of the online application form
Credit or debit card – please ensure that you have your card details ready before starting the application or renewal form.
Your permit may be cancelled if payment is not successfully received within 24 hours of receipt of your online application or renewal. If your bank refuses to make the payment your permit will be considered to be invalid and you may be at risk of receiving penalty charge notices which you will have to pay.
By post or email if using the paper application form
If you want to pay using a credit or debit card please ensure that a contact telephone number is included on the paper form so that we can contact you to take your payment over the phone.
If you want to pay by cheque, please make cheques payable to London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Your name, address and vehicle registration must be written on the back of the cheque.
