Rising boxing star Zak Chelli has made his childhood dream a reality after clinching the British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles last weekend.

The 26-year-old secured a unanimous points victory over rival and titleholder, Jack Cullen, after twelve gruelling rounds in the domestic dust-up in Liverpool.

The Fulham fighter landed the more stinging, power shots throughout the energy-sapping bout, with the ringside judges scoring it 116-113, 116-112 and 115-114 in Chelli’s favour.

This is a dream come true to be crowned the best super-middleweight in Britain,” said Zak. “All British fighters dream about winning this title, just like I did, and I have now done it. It is an amazing feeling.”

“I started boxing training when I was five years old and now I am the number one super-middleweight in Britain. All the hard work, early morning runs and countless hours of training over the years has paid off.”

The Fulham resident is now taking a well-deserved holiday after the bruising encounter at the weekend before he eyes up his next opponent as he looks to defend his titles later this year.
