Recycling plant tours

Ever wondered what happens to your recycling after it’s been collected?

We offer free tours taking you behind the scenes of our huge recycling plant, run by our waste disposal authority in Wandsworth.

Tour of H&F's waste disposal authority in Wandsworth

A free minibus service will collect you from a local pick-up point (Hammersmith Town Hall at Riverside Gardens, or Kensington Town Hall) and whisk you off for a behind-the-scenes peek of where the waste arrives, how it is separated, sorted and sent off to be turned into something new.

The tour is likely to be of interest to individual residents, as well as landlords, local residents’ organisations and community groups.

We’ve had an amazing response to the recycling plant tours, and are now fully booked. We will add more tour dates here when available.

To register your interest and for more information, email recycling@lbhf.gov.uk or complete the form below.

Family-friendly Open Day on Saturday 17 November 2018

The waste and recycling plant in Wandsworth is also hosting a day of free resident tours around the facility, as well as providing craft activities for children to learn more about recycling. The tours are free to residents. Children must be aged five and over, and will need to be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, young people under the age of 18 will not be able to access the machinery hall.

Due to popular demand the tour on Saturday 17 November is now fully booked. We will add more dates here when available.
