This historic park and splash pad are the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy the summer sun. The Fulham splash pad is free and no booking is required.
The splash pad is located in the middle of the park between the lake and the skate bowl, and during the summer it is open from 10am to 6pm every day.
The water feature has an intriguing history. When the lake in the park was built around 1900, it was designed as an urban beach called ‘Margate Sands’. This incorporated a paddling pool on the south-eastern side of the lake and sand brought from the Kent and Essex coast.
Margate Sands is now re-imagined as a large splash pad with three sets of water jets and the long sandy beach.
Bishops Park was created in 1893 from land around Fulham Palace – a stunning green space right next to the River Thames. The park is a Grade II-listed site, protected by English Heritage on the register of parks and gardens of special historic interest.
Twenty of H&F’s glorious parks – including both Ravenscourt Park and Bishops Park – have won the prestigious Green Flag award.
