Following the very serious claim in MyLondon, the Daily Mail and SW15 website that a death at UCL’s Westmoreland Street hospital was caused by a surgeon, Mr Hayward, being delayed by the closure of Hammersmith Bridge, we asked the hospital trust for their report into their investigation of this death.

The trust have confirmed that ‘according to our records, no patient has died as a result of Mr Hayward not getting to the hospital on time’ and that ‘they always have a medical team on site who deal with cardiac arrests.’

The trust say Mr Hayward is on leave and they are awaiting his return for an explanation of his claim.
