Notice of the opening of postal votes
UK Parliamentary General Election - 12 December 2019
Notice of the opening of postal voting envelopes for the Chelsea & Fulham and Hammersmith constituencies:
- 10am Tuesday 3 December
- 10am Wednesday 4 December
- 10am Thursday 5 December
- 10am Friday 6 December
- 10am Saturday 7 December (this opening will be cancelled if there is no post outstanding from Friday’s delivery from Royal Mail)
- 10am Monday 9 December
- 10am Tuesday 10 December
- 10am Wednesday 11 December
- 10am Thursday 12 December – this session includes late evening openings as ballot papers are collected from polling stations
- 10pm Thursday 12 December – this includes postal votes handed in at polling stations.
Openings 1 to 9 will take place in Meeting Room 2, 2nd Floor, 3 Shortlands, London, W6 8DA. The final opening will take place at Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, W14 8UX.
Each session will commence with the opening of postal votes for the Fulham wards of the Chelsea & Fulham constituency, followed by the opening of votes for the Hammersmith constituency.
As many agents as are required may be appointed, but a maximum of 3 agents per candidate will be permitted to attend any time for each candidate. This may be reduced to two if the Deputy Returning Officer considers the room to be overcrowded.
Names of those attending should be notified before the commencement of proceedings.
It is advisable to check with Electoral Services beforehand, in case volumes of returned envelopes mean a session is cancelled or the time changed.
Arrangements for Chelsea wards of Chelsea & Fulham constituency
Parliamentary postal votes for the Chelsea wards of Chelsea and Fulham constituency will be opened at The Town Hall, Hornton Street, London, W8. Sessions will be every day as shown above, with an additional session on Monday 2 December at 10am. The final opening will be held at Olympia, as above.
As many agents as are required may be appointed, but only 2 agents for each candidate may be in attendance at any one time. Names of those attending should be notified before the commencement of proceedings.
