Notice of election for Hammersmith constituency

General Election 12 December 2019

An election is to be held for a Member of Parliament for the Hammersmith constituency.

Obtaining nomination papers

1. Nomination papers may be obtained from the Acting Returning Officer at Electoral Services, First Floor, The Clockwork Building, 45 Beavor Lane, London, W6 9AR. The Acting Returning Officer will, at any elector’s request, give advice on the completion of a nomination paper.

Delivery of nomination papers

2. Nomination papers and a deposit of £500, in legal tender or by bankers draft, must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer at Electoral Services, First Floor, The Clockwork Building, 45 Beavor Lane, London, W6 9AR between 10am and 4pm on any weekday, excluding Bank Holidays, after the date of this notice but no later than 4pm, Thursday 14 November 2019.

Voter registration

3. Applications to be included in the Register of Electors for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer no later than Tuesday 26 November 2019.

Postal and proxy voting

4. New applications to vote by post, or to cancel or amend postal votes, or changes from postal to proxy voting (or vice versa) must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm, Tuesday 26 November 2019.

5. New applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm, Wednesday 4 December 2019.

6. Applications to vote by emergency proxy because of physical incapacity or for work or service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 12 December 2019. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019. To apply for work or service reasons, the person must have become aware they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019.

7. All registration, postal and proxy applications and notices must be delivered to Electoral Services, First Floor, The Clockwork Building, 45 Beavor Lane, London, W6 9AR (by hand) or Electoral Services, Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, London, W6 9JU (by post).
