Surge testing for new coronavirus variants

On 1 February 2021 the government announced that additional testing would be made available in several locations, none currently in H&F, where the Covid variants have been found.

Surge testing is increased testing (including door-to-door testing in some areas) and enhanced contact tracing in specific locations in England. It involves testing of people who do not have any symptoms of COVID-19.

Surge testing will support existing extensive testing and monitor and suppress the spread of the variant.

If you, your family or a friend live or work in an affected area please go the relevant local authority website for advice and information on testing and other measures.
