Conversations matter

We want to support residents to maintain their independence and wellbeing during this difficult time while many are self-isolating or finding it hard to arrange the support you need.

Conversations matters is a telephone support service for older and disabled adults as well as for unpaid carers. The service is for any adult with care and support needs. You don't need to be receiving care from us to be able to use this service.

People who are shielding and require support can use this service.

We can help you to cope with the problems that COVID-19 brings, especially if you are living at home alone and at risk of social isolation.

Conversations matter offers residents a personalised telephone service which starts with a chat about your wellbeing and circumstances. We can help you make a plan to make sure you are safe and ensure your carers have the support they need.

As well as an information and advice service, conversations matter can connect you to a range of independent, community and voluntary sector organisations, providing shopping, community meals, domestic cleaning, laundry, gardening services as well as leisure, social and recreational activities.

The conversations matter team is made up of community link workers and a team manager.

This service is not suitable for people in crisis and with high level needs and it is not suitable for people living in residential or nursing care homes.
