Launch event: Picnic in the Park

Come and join us for the launch of the Summer in the City programme at our FREE event in Ravenscourt Park!

There will be lots of activities, games, prizes, entertainment and food! Find out about all that the summer has to offer in Hammersmith & Fulham.

Bike maintenance in Ravenscourt Park

Come along to our bike maintenance tent every Tuesday and Thursday through the summer break in Ravenscourt Park.

Bring along your bike and get it fixed for FREE so that you can keep cycling.

Our skilled instructors would be happy to help you learn the basics from fixing your chain to adjusting your brakes.

Look out for the Summer in the City tent and flag.

When: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 26 July to 25 August

Yoga in the Park

Come and join our yoga in park sessions, run by the Goethe Institute - with a splash of German language skills!

These hour sessions will run in Ravenscourt Park by the cafe and will teach children the basics of yoga and relaxation skills - with some basic German words.

Adults will be required to stay in the park while the children join the class.

When: Wednesday 3 and Wednesday 10 August

Summer in the City Storymakers present: Puppetry in the Park

Come and join our interactive storymaker workshops.

Children and young people will be empowered to tell stories through art, puppets and creative movement.

All of our activities will use recycled materials as all of our workshops have a strong focus on sustainability and the environment.

Orchestra in the Park – Musical Mini Beasts

Harnessing the skills of the amazing musicians of the world-renowned English Chamber Orchestra, Close Encounters reaches out to people of all ages everywhere; it encourages participation, engagement, and an understanding of music by supporting learning and spreading musical joy far and wide. Musical Mini Beasts has a focus on climate and ecology.

Come and join us for sessions in August at Ravenscourt Park (near the W6 Garden Centre park entrance on Ravenscourt Avenue).

* Parents/carers must remain for the duration of the 45-minute workshop.

Bikeabilty sessions

Come and join our cycle training programme which teaches young people how to ride safely using control skills, games and fun activities.

Twenty spaces available each day (two groups of ten children). Bikes can be made available, but free to bring your own. To book, please email the contacts below.

Uniformed Services Week

Come to Ravenscourt Park and meet some amazing people from our uniformed services. There will be activities, food and a chance for you to get involved with the Army, Navy, Fire Service and MET Police.

Meet a different uniformed service every afternoon for a week from Monday 15 to Friday 19 August.

Try an activity, have some fun and find out what it’s like to be part of a uniformed service.

  • Monday 15 August – Meet the London Fire Brigade from 1pm to 3pm (subject to not being called for an emergency)
  • Tuesday 16 August – Meet the Royal Navy and try some naval activities from 1pm to 4pm
  • Wednesday 17 August – Challenge yourself with activities from the Army from 1pm to 4pm
  • Friday 19 August – ‘Meet the MET’ by coming to meet MET Police officers from different teams, police horses, dogs and much more from 1pm to 4pm
