Covid-19 business grants

Business grants update

More than £25.5 million in grants has been paid to local businesses since December 2020 and more payments are on the way.

We’ve so far delivered more than £2m of grant payments to local businesses for the first and second rounds of the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) scheme.

We’re working hard to process the huge volume of grant applications we’ve received. Most of our staff are working on paying the grants to support our local businesses and this may cause delays in responding to individual enquires.

If you have NOT sent all the necessary documentation with your Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) application, please send it now to the H&F Business Support team at with your grant reference number in the subject header.

If you have made a grant application, please check your bank account to see if your payment has been received. We will let businesses know if they are not eligible for this grant.

Which grants can I apply for now?

State aid

Although the UK has left the European Union, the European State Aid rules still apply during the Transition Period and these grants are required to comply with the EU law on State Aid.

The council is required to ensure that the payment of a grant complies with State Aid rules. You will be required to make a statement that you comply with these rules. What is state aid?
