What is state aid?

EU state aid rules are in place to stop a company receiving government support to gain an advantage over its competitors.

Following the outbreak of coronavirus, these rules have been relaxed to allow Governments to support businesses affected by the pandemic. This temporary arrangement is called the Covid-19 Temporary Framework scheme.

Under the Covid-19 Temporary Framework scheme, the maximum level of aid that a company may receive is €800,000

You MUST retain records for four years and produce evidence on any request by the UK public authorities or the European Commission. (You may need to keep your records for longer than four years for other purposes).
