Cameras caught the huge pile of waste being dumped in Lerry Close, West Kensington

Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s CCTV team has caught another fly-tip on camera.

Cameras caught the huge pile of waste being dumped in Lerry Close, West Kensington on 29 July. A suspect has since been arrested and their vehicle seized.

H&F Council is now working alongside the Met Police to put a case together to prosecute the suspected dumper.

“We will not tolerate fly-tipping like this in H&F,” said Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents’ Services.

“This is another great result and another step in our journey to becoming the greenest borough in the country. Thanks go to our CCTV team and the Met Police for their great teamwork.”

This latest catch by H&F Council’s network of CCTV cameras comes as part of a clampdown on rubbish dumping in the borough and follows the council’s recent appeal after a brazen fly-tipper in Fulham was caught in the act.

“There are various ways and means to dispose of your furnishings and property if you’re moving house – dumping it on the street is not an option,” added Cllr Harcourt.

“We make no bones about it, if you do that with no plans in place to clear it afterwards, you’re fly-tipping and we will prosecute you.

“There are online forums and websites where you can gift your items to someone. You could donate to a charity, or you could just book one of the council’s bulky waste collections.”

H&F Council has launched a clampdown on littering and dumping of waste and will issue fixed penalty notices (FPNs) in cases where the blame can be proved.
