Mark Hurren’s fruit and veg stall is one of the many popular stalls on North End Road - a long-term fixture on the historic high street selling fruit, veg and salad to bargain-hunters.

Fresh shiny aubergines, pineapples, avocados, easy peelers, bananas, plums, cucumbers, broccoli, mangoes, cherries, grapes, radishes, lettuces, sweetcorn and more is on offer.

“This stall has been here for more than 110 years,” said Mark as he filled another customer’s bag with a melon, peaches and a box of blueberries. “We sell absolutely everything here.”

If you want to know what’s fresh and bargain-priced this week, take a gander at Mark’s Instagram feed, which sums up the produce on offer right now.

With punnets of fruit, large bunches of parsley, pomegranates, vine tomatoes, grapefruit, watermelon, ginger, pak choi, lemons, sweet potatoes, carrots, multi-coloured peppers, green beans, squash and onions, there is lots to choose from.

Hurren’s fruit & veg stall is opposite the Co-op, near the corner with Sedlescombe Road, at 355 North End Road.
