The new Phoenix bar and restaurant terrace in White City

A new garden terrace bar and restaurant has opened in White City.

The Phoenix will transform the former Jamie’s Italian site at Westfield into a new venue for food and drinks, comedy, live music and DJs. It’s the sister location of popular The Hawk’s Nest that opened in Shepherds Bush Market last year.

The new opening is the latest venue to join the borough’s fast-growing mix of creative businesses in White City. It’s part of our pioneering Industrial Strategy to transform the area into a hotspot for tech and creative businesses, education and research in making H&F the best place to live, work and socialise.

Urban paradise

Wil Fuller, co-director of the new venue, said: “We wanted to create a beautiful urban paradise in the form of an English garden full of real flowers and plants.”

The Phoenix is open until midnight on Monday to Saturday with live music every Wednesday, alongside DJ sets, comedy nights and quizzes during the week.

“We will be working with talented local people to put on live entertainment and events, seven days a week. The area is undergoing huge revitalisation with very good public transport links, and we felt like White City has great potential,” Wil added.

The new venue will serve a mix of Italian street food and salad boxes alongside Mexican-themed cocktails. Up to 400 can be seated in the outdoor terrace, while there is space for another 250 indoors.

The Phoenix will join Dirty Vegan, Bleecker Burger and Pizza Pilgrims as one of the latest additions to Westfield London’s growing list of restaurants.

Birds of a feather flock together

The new venue also joins a celebrated list of other Phoenixes in W12, including the Phoenix Fitness Centre and Janet Adegoke Swimming Pool in Bloemfontein Road and Phoenix High School in The Curve.
