It’s electrifying and free! Hammersmith & Fulham Council has teamed up with Zipcar and Fulham Broadway BID to launch the first electric van service for small businesses in Fulham.

Jump in today and help us tackle the climate emergency as we work with local businesses to reduce pollution, traffic and congestion in H&F.

The new electric van is free to use for qualifying businesses based in Fulham including market traders on North End Road Market. We will be introducing additional free-to-use electric vans for businesses in other parts of the borough later this year.

“We’re working together with Zipcar, Fulham Broadway BID and local businesses in H&F to help halt the disastrous effects of the climate emergency on our environment and our health,” said Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for the Environment.

“Please book a slot for your business to use the new free electric van and move us a step closer to our carbon net-zero target.”

Tackling climate emergency

After declaring a climate and ecological emergency in 2019, we are taking urgent action to help make the borough carbon net-zero by 2030.

This is the latest scheme we have launched in partnership with Zipcar following the introduction of the new flexible car club in the borough.

A quarter of the fleet are electric vehicles and Zipcar intend to make the entire fleet electric by 2025.

“We're very proud to be working with Hammersmith & Fulham Council to extend this free electric vehicle to local small businesses,” said James Taylor, Zipcar UK General Manager.

“We believe that the future is electric - that’s why we have a vision for our fleet to be fully electric in the UK by 2025. It's through great initiatives such as this electric van that we'll be able to work together to achieve this mission.”

Free e-cargo bike for businesses

H&F Council is also offering local businesses and organisations the chance to use our climate-friendly courier delivery service for free.

Businesses, charities, organisations and market stallholders can now apply for the new H&F voucher scheme which gives them £250 to spend on deliveries with our popular Parcels Not Pollution service, which has made more than 2,000 deliveries so far.
