Leading tech innovators in Hammersmith & Fulham will be talking about how they are using technology to make a positive impact in the world this week.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Imperial College London’s Upstream programme will be hosting a series of virtual talks for London Tech Week (1-11 September) on Thursday (10 September).

It forms part of this year’s Borough Day celebrations at London Tech Week.

Speakers include Dr George Frodsham, CEO of MediSieve, based in the I-HUB building in White City’s booming tech hub, which is developing a new magnetic blood filtration for the treatment of blood-borne diseases, and engineer Michelle Moyo of White City-based Puraffinity, a bio-tech firm looking to tackling water pollution by removing harmful pollutants.

It forms part of the work H&F Council is doing in partnership with Imperial College London to make H&F one of the leading destinations for tech, digital and creative industries.

The London Tech Week events in H&F are:

• Thursday 10 September - 11am-noon
  Borough Day from Upstream – H&F Showcase Tech for Impact
  H&F Showcase Tech for Impact event includes talks from five leading tech firms in H&F, which include Salary Finance, Zamna, MediSieve and Puraffinity, followed by a Q&A.

• Thursday 10 September - 6pm-7.15pm
  Drink and Discover with Upstream
  Join Upstream for a fireside chat with one of the world’s leading experts on the success of London tech ecosystem, founder of Tech London Advocates (TLA) and local resident Russ Shaw.
  It will be followed by a cocktail-making experience led by the head bartender at the fabulous Grade-II listed Kindred in Hammersmith Broadway, and then a few quick rounds of networking with like-minded techies.
  This evening will raise funds for the great work done by United in Hammersmith & Fulham.
