Violent disorder in White City – statement

Cllr Sue Fennimore, Deputy Leader of H&F Council, has issued a statement about the violent disorder in White City last night.

Cllr Sue Fennimore, Deputy Leader of Hammersmith & Fulham Council, has issued a statement about the violent disorder, which followed an illegal party in White City last night:

“Last night hundreds of people came from across London to the White City Estate to hold an illegal late-night party. Local residents and council wardens quickly contacted police for help dispersing the unauthorised event.

“The White City Estate is home to thousands of families, including many of the key workers who have been keeping us safe over recent months. It is completely unacceptable and selfish that anyone would seek to organise an illegal party in a residential area, making it impossible for local residents to relax with their family and sleep at the end of a long week.

“Unauthorised parties on our local estates and parks are not only illegal - in the middle of a pandemic they are downright dangerous.

“The council strongly condemns injury to police trying to disperse this illegal party. Our officers will work with residents and police to identify the organisers of this party and take the strongest possible action. We are determined that residents across the borough can live at home safely without such disturbances, and we will act swiftly to stop other similar gatherings.”
