Hammersmith & Fulham Council has announced that many local schools and services will be providing half-term holiday clubs for the families of keyworkers and priority children.
Seventeen primary schools, nine secondary, and one special educational unit will be open between Tuesday and Friday next week (26-29 May).
“Our schools and community partners continue to go above and beyond to help our families as they ensure key workers are able to remain on the frontline over the half-term break,” said Cllr Larry Culhane, H&F Cabinet Member for Children and Education.
“We remain hugely grateful to all staff and partners for putting the needs of our children and families first.”
Deep cleans
All facilities will be specially cleaned ahead of the holiday clubs and activities will be designed to maintain social distance, to protect the young people and our staff.
Community partner Let Me Play are supporting H&F Council with delivery of activities during this holiday period. The clubs will be hosted from three hubs during this May Half-Term at Sulivan Primary in Fulham, Melcombe Children’s Centre and Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith.
In these hubs, children can expect fun activities such as creating tie-dye shirts, conducting Science experiments, cooking, and coding – to name just a few!
Headteachers are contacting those parents whose children are eligible for places. Please contact your local school if you need to be referred
The council is still strongly advising parents to keep their children at home if it’s safe to do so. But there will be space for every child and family who qualify and require help.
