Hammersmith & Fulham Council is doing everything it possibly can to support local businesses in these unprecedented times.

We have so far delivered £40m of grants to local businesses.

More than 2,200 businesses have now received the crucial lifeline from the council, with more payments currently on the way to qualifying businesses.

Businesses which have sent in their details to the business rates team are advised to check their bank accounts over the next seven days for payment.

Those businesses which have not already sent in their details should email their bank details and address to businessrates@lbhf.gov.uk now.

“The business grants we are delivering to firms is just one of the ways we’re working with local businesses to give them the vital support they need in these difficult times,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for the Economy.

“If you qualify for a grant and have not sent in your details please do it now. We all need to do whatever we can to support our local businesses. We want to ensure our local economy bounces back stronger than ever after the coronavirus crisis.”

Business support

The council’s Business Desk is still your first port of call for business support and has dealt with more than 700 enquiries since the coronavirus lockdown began.

The free business support service continues to provide:

  • bookable 1-2-1 advice clinics with a business expert
  • business resilience support consultations
  • help developing a business plan for recovery
  • consultation with a business advisor to explore adapting your business model so you can stay open
  • H&F Enterprise Club sessions covering a variety of business topics.

This support service is provided online and via the phone due to public health guidance during the coronavirus pandemic.

We’ve also launched a new series of workshops which will run over four weeks to assist businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis and help boost their business profile in preparation for when the lockdown is lifted.

It includes practical workshops on how to:

  • create ads
  • diagnose and fix website issues
  • social media scheduling and image design in Canva
  • Google Analytics metrics and Google console training.

The sessions will be on the Zoom platform.

Safety first

Our main priority will always be keeping people safe which is why we have also sent safe distancing posters to local businesses, which are still open, to ensure employees and customers remain safe.

You can download a poster here (pdf 88KB)

We have also helped keep our popular North End Road market open by providing stewards to support social distancing. We have delivered PPE and handwashing facilities to the traders so we can keep this important source of healthy, cheap food available to residents.

While our new H&F Food Guide promoting businesses still delivering food to residents is getting bigger every day. Check it out today.

Businesses can also use our business social media platforms to engage and trade with other local companies below:
