Free fitness app helps you stay healthy during coronavirus outbreak

H&F has teamed with fitness partners GLL by making access to their Better UK app free for all.

Hammersmith & Fulham has teamed with fitness partners GLL in the battle against coronavirus by making access to their Better UK app free for all.

While the coronavirus outbreak means everyone is homebound, GLL, which operates under the trade name ‘Better’, has opened up its mobile app to residents to ensure everyone can stay healthy and active.

The Better UK app, usually only available to members of GLL’s three fitness centres in the borough, offers virtual fitness classes and guides for home workouts.

“It’s essential that while the country is on lockdown people still have the opportunity to stay fit and active,” said Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment.

“We’re grateful GLL has made such a community-focused decision to help our residents.

“There’s already a huge burden on our national health service and helping residents to stay healthy during these unprecedented times will lessen that strain and could lead to longer-term health benefits for everyone.”

How does it work?

The app is free to download for both Apple and Android devices. Once you have the app, simply enter the access code ‘BETTERFREE’ to get started.

In the app you’ll find various activities to try at home, with new content due to be added shortly, tailored for older people and children, so that anyone can take part.
