We’re investing in a community-led redesign of North End Road.
Since 2014, we’ve been working hard with businesses, traders and residents to make North End Road a more thriving and welcoming high street. And now, thanks to you, we’re ready to move to the next stage.
We asked local people to share their ideas and suggestions on how we could improve North End Road. This included speaking with shopkeepers, market traders, community representatives and local community groups. Residents also gave their views in an online questionnaire and at a public exhibition at St John’s Church in North End Road.
After listening to you, we’ve come up with a list of potential projects for consideration. Read the document explaining the potential improvements and let us know what you think at NorthEndRoad@lbhf.gov.uk
We’ll be holding further local conversations to prioritise which of these ideas we should take forward. Some can be done quite quickly. Others are more expensive and will require us to apply for funding.
“We believe in doing things with residents and businesses, not to them,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for the Economy and the Arts. “A big thank you to everyone who’s given us their views so far on shaping the future of North End Road.”

We’ve already allocated an initial £1 million of new funding negotiated from property developers to implement some of these ideas and we’ve applied to TfL and others for the additional funding we’ll need to take forward the bigger ones.
This is all part of our Industrial Strategy (pdf 2.6MB), which aims to harness the power of local government to bring people together and achieve economic growth for everyone.
Please have a look at the potential improvements and email us at NorthEndRoad@lbhf.gov.uk to say which you like best – or to be added to the mailing list to find out about future work to boost North End Road.
We will share our progress with you at each stage.
