Local artists and designers have helped bring an empty shop back to life with an exciting new pop-up store at Kings Mall shopping centre in King Street.
The Made in H&F shop, which is located next to the Poundland store in the shopping centre, opened on Monday.

It will include local painters, jewellery makers, hat makers, t-shirt designers, artists, craft makers and much more.
“This affordable workspace is a great way to support our local entrepreneurs as we help their businesses to grow in H&F,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for the Economy and the Arts.
“We’re working to provide more affordable spaces for entrepreneurs in the borough as we recognise the challenges of running your own business. We want to make H&F the best place to do business in Europe.”
The small business support project, which runs until the end of December, is a result of the council’s Industrial Strategy (pdf) which aims to create more affordable and flexible co-working hubs in the borough for entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing businesses looking to grow in H&F.
Fulham resident and entrepreneur, Aki Iwai, is one of the local entrepreneurs who will be based at the new pop-up space in Hammersmith.
The founder of Axelina Productions has incorporated his love of drawing to produce t-shirts, cards and tote bags (which are all hand-printed) with characters from the children’s book he is currently writing. It includes an otter, a bear and a tyrannosaurus rex.
“This is a very exciting opportunity,” said Aki. “It’s the first time I’ve taken part in a pop-up shop. I can’t wait to get started.”
Aki, who is originally from Kumamoto in south-west Japan, studied illustrations at the Macbeth Centre in Macbeth Street.
He founded his company three years ago and has gone on to become a popular trader at the traffic-free North End Road markets.
“I love the North End Road market events,” added Aki. “It’s always a great day with all the other local traders and the visitors who come down. It has really helped me to get my work out there and now the pop-up shop will help give my business another real boost.”
Other local entrepreneurs who will be based in the pop-up store include Fulham artist Darren Azgard whose artwork adorns the new Westfield expansion and fellow Fulham entrepreneur Tia Hannaford of Immy London.
Patricia Bench, BID Director at HammersmithLondon, said: “We are passionate about our local talent here in Hammersmith and this shop offers a great outlet for some of our best artists and makers to promote and sell their fantastic pieces of work.”
The Made in H&F shop will be open on Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 6pm and Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
