Students were celebrating some impressive results at Burlington Danes Academy on GCSE results day.

Top performing students at the White City campus shunned fears of the new, harder exams and romped home with a selection of top marks.

Grades are awarded from nine to one. With nine, eight and seven ranging from what would have been A* to A in the old system, and four being similar to a C.

Among the school’s top performers was Omar Sayeed-Iqbal, who scooped an incredible seven nines, two eights and one seven.

Jai Patel had an equally impressive haul, with seven nines and three sevens.

Nerjess Alfellani was delighted to finish the year with two nines, three eights, three sevens, one six, one five and one four.

And James Rowley takes home four nines, one eight, three sevens, two sixes and one five.

Headteacher Paul Bhatia said: “We are delighted with the performance of our students in their GCSEs and wish them all well as they go onto Sixth Form and College.

“Our top performing students achieved some exceptional grades that we are very proud of.”
