Andrew Dent, Deputy Registrar General (pictured centre), selected Hammersmith & Fulham Register Office to witness the front-line delivery of registration services after the borough was recognised as having achieved some of the best in London.

Data from 2016-17 shows that Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s registration service was the best in London for hitting its targets and offering appointments quickly.

Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment & Residents’ Services said: “We're reforming the council so our residents and local businesses receive the very best services. That's why we increased opening hours, including on Saturdays, and reduced waiting times for appointments. That has made a real difference to residents at the most emotional times of their lives.

“Meanwhile, our online bookings have made it easier and quicker to make an appointment with us and we always try to give a same-day appointment which far exceeds targets. That's the least local people deserve and we will continue to innovate and improve this service.”
