Beginning to sound a lot like Christmas: Come and hear H&F’s Young Singers at the Royal Festival Hall

And over 350 primary school pupils will be putting on an impressive performance at Hammersmith Town Hall.

Young performers from the Music Hub

Talented young singers from Hammersmith & Fulham will be performing festive favourites at prestigious venues this month.

The Music Hub’s Young Singers, will be performing at one of their biggest events of the year at the Royal Festival Hall. They will be singing Christmas classics accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Bach Choir on Sunday 10 December. The concert will run from 3.00pm to 5.30pm. 

The Music Hub’s Chamber Choir will be performing Handel’s Messiah at the Barbican from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesday 20 December. They will be joined by the Academy of Ancient Music

“These events are wonderful opportunities for young people to perform alongside professional musicians,” said Cllr Sue Macmillan, H&F Cabinet Member for Children and Education.  

“They more than live up to the challenge every year. The concerts are great way to get into the festive spirit and support our young people at the same time.”

There are also free performances to enjoy in Hammersmith & Fulham.  

The biggest event is the Hammersmith & Fulham Primary Christmas Singing Festival It takes place on Tuesday 12 Dec at 2pm. More than 350 pupils from 15 schools will sing songs in a range of different languages at Hammersmith Town Hall.

On Wednesday 6 December the Music Hub’s Folk Ensemble will perform from 4.45pm to 5.15pm at the Lyric Theatre. It will be followed by a ballet-themed performance by the hub’s Youth Orchestra from 6.30pm to 7.15pm. Both are the culmination of work earlier in the year.

On Thursday 7 December the Music Hub’s Little Singers will perform at 4.30pm in the Lyric foyer, followed by the Young Singers performing from 5.30pm.
