Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...down King Street for the new Hammersmith Christmas Market on 2 December (Saturday).
There will be music performances across the traffic-free market with a jam-packed show on stage at Lyric Square that includes a cappella singers and carols from students at LAMDA.
While an impressive line-up of buskers will play throughout the day in King Street. The line-up includes the quirky musical fusions of Natasha Kirke, singer and guitarist Poppy Scarlett and even a Mariachi band - bringing the authentic sound of Mexico to W6.
“Come down and enjoy the first-ever traffic-free market in King Street with all the family on Saturday,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration.
“Our pedestrian-friendly markets have gained a London-wide reputation as we aim to make H&F the best place to work, live and prosper in Europe.”
The Hammersmith Christmas Market follows the success of the council’s pedestrian-friendly seasonal markets in North End Road which have revitalised the 130-year-old high street.
There will be over 100 stalls filled with gifts, seasonal food and drink at the inaugural Hammersmith market, not to mention, free ice-skating sessions and a Jack and the Beanstalk-themed Treasure Hunt for the kids.
The synthetic rink will be open from 10am-5.30pm with half-hour sessions.
And there is even more with all-day entertainment that includes carol singing cats, naughty elves, Glitter Belles on stilts, Rudolph, Ice King and Queen, a seasonal photo booth, free Christmas wrapping and children’s workshops.
