H&F waste team help give North End Road a Big Tidy Up

Members of H&F Council’s waste team will be mucking in as part of helping out with a community clean-up in North End Road.

Members of Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s waste team will be mucking in as part of helping out with a community clean-up in North End Road.

The council is supporting the event as part of its drive to promote the vibrant area of Fulham as a key shopping destination, with one of the best markets in London.

The team from H&F waste contractors, Serco, will head down on Tuesday 22 August for Keep Britain Tidy’s annual ‘Big Tidy Up’ event.

Organised by the McDonalds restaurant in North End Road, a team of volunteers will work alongside H&F’s team to clear rubbish and mess from North End Road, Lillie Road, Haldane Road and Normand Park.

The clean-up event helps to foster a sense of pride and local community in the area.

H&F Council provides staff, a collection truck, bags and litter pickers to help with the event.

The Big Tidy Up starts at 11am and will last an hour. Volunteers from nearby homes or local businesses are welcome to attend and help out.

Growing the reputation of North End Road

The council has been investing in the growth of North End Road as a major shopping destination in west London, with promotion of the regular traffic-free markets, with more than 10,000 visitors attending the seasonal events.

Working closely with the North End Road Action Group, the council has worked to draw new traders, visitors and shoppers to the area.
