It’s not too late for residents to get involved in the fight against plans to expand Heathrow Airport.

The government recently began consulting residents in West London following its decision in October 2016 to support Heathrow expansion.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council is strongly opposed to any expansion.

The Department for Transport’s (DfT) consultation will come to Hammersmith Town Hall on Monday 6 March from 11am to 8pm and everyone is urged to come and have their say.

Vital to share your views

“It’s vital that residents take part in this consultation and make sure their views on the plans are heard,” said Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents’ Services.

“For those who can’t attend on Monday, you can respond online, so please make sure you take part.”

If you have problems with the DfT’s online consultation, you can download a PDF version here, to print, complete and return to them.

H&F Council is opposed to the plans because of:

  • the additional noise from extra flights and new flightpaths over H&F
  • worsening air pollution
  • the extra congestion on our roads and the Piccadilly Line.

We’re also concerned about the lack of information on these in the consultation and will be pressing the government to explain how residents’ quality of life will be protected.
