Get your skates on for Christmas fair in Parsons Green

You’ll have to get your skates on if you want to take advantage of the Winter on the Green family fun festival.

You’ll have to get your skates on if you want to take full advantage of the Winter on the Green family fun festival over three days on Parsons Green.

The long weekend event, from 16 to 18 December, includes an all-weather ice rink, allowing skaters to pirouette around the scenic green, surrounded by festive lighting and accompanied by live music and DJ sets.

Tickets are being sold for different time slots, with the rink open from 11am each day.

There will be a daily children’s open-air pop-up cinema, with young audience members encouraged to dress up in outfits based on the film Frozen while sitting on directors’ chairs, wrapped in cosy blankets and sipping steaming hot chocolate. Shows at 11.15am and 2.15pm.

You can buy your Christmas presents at the German market’s stalls, warm up in a huge heated marquee, enjoy gourmet street food, go on family fairground rides and try out a snowboard simulator on the Saturday and Sunday, while Santa will be dispensing wit, wisdom and gifts in his grotto.

Winter on the Green, which is supporting three charities including Fulham Good Neighbours, which helps vulnerable people in the area, also includes a mini rave, Big Fish Little Fish, on the Saturday afternoon, to help all ages burn off some energy.

In the evening there will be more entertainment, including dancing in the marquee and trying cocktails. The cinema, featuring a selection of Christmas movies, will be accompanied by mulled wine under the blankets.
