A pop-up cinema is opening in the heart of Hammersmith, with free tickets to favourite festive films.

The movie hub is being set up in the Kings Mall shopping centre… with everyone registering for free tickets being entered in a prize draw for a huge chocolate-filled hamper.

Organised by HammersmithLondon – the town’s business improvement district – the pop-up cinema is also running an online poll to discover which Christmas films residents most enjoy.

The Hammersmith Movie Hub officially opens on Thursday 8 December at 5pm when the lights dim and the H&F Mayor, Cllr Mercy Umeh, settles down with a box of popcorn.

The three films which are voted Hammersmith’s all-time favourites from a shortlist of six will be screened at 11am and 3pm on the weekends of 10 and 17 December, and at 2pm every day between 19 and 21 December.

The six movies on the shortlist are: Elf, Miracle on 34th Street, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone and The Grinch.

The full listings will be confirmed on Monday (Dec 5).

All films will be free, but tickets must be booked in advance.

The first prize in the free draw for all ticket applicants is a festive hamper filled with goodies from Hotel Chocolat.

These events and the competition have passed.
