Grammy-winning composer, producer, arranger and guitarist Nile Rodgers brings his FOLD festival to Fulham Palace over three days in June.
Curated and produced by Nile, FOLD presents musical acts that span the decades and genres – with every evening headlined by his legendary band CHIC. It is the first time that Fulham Palace has hosted a major music event.
FOLD stands for ‘Freak Out Let’s Dance’ and it kicks off with a night of golden era Eighties pop on Friday 24 June with performances by Alison Moyet and Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins.
Saturday (25 June) dials in on modern day pop with BECK showing Fulham where it’s at with a wild blend of his eclectic fusion of rock, indie, folk and soul. Anne-Marie will also take the stage, along with emerging newcomer Grace who is set to perform her phenomenal new tune, You Don’t Own Me.
While Sunday (26 June) features the very best of funk, soul and everything in-between. Angie Stone will deliver a set of acclaimed classics that show why Prince, Stevie Wonder and D’Angelo all sit as famous fans, while acid-jazz pioneers Incognito bring their eclectic set of pulsating anthems.
Who is Nile Rodgers?
Over his 40-year-career, the co-founder of CHIC has ploughed his own furrow in electronic dance music. From chart-topping hits such as Le Freak and I Want Your Love, as well as giving Sister Sledge the smash We Are Family, he’s also produced seminal tunes for David Bowie, Diana Roass and Madonna. More recently, his collaborations with Daft Punk and Sam Smith reflect the scope of his peerless influence on modern music.
