Residents share their experiences of healthcare services

Residents still have time to share their views on healthcare services in H&F.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s series of neighbourhood health forums have proved a popular way for residents to come and tell the council about their experiences of local healthcare services. What they think is working well and where improvements could be made.

Three forums have been held so far Fulham and Shepherds Bush, with the final event taking place on Wednesday 16 March at Hammersmith Town Hall.

“This is a topic that everyone in the borough feels passionate about and that has been reflected in the strong opinions and stories residents have shared,” said Cllr Sharon Holder, Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s Lead Member for Hospitals and Healthcare, who chairs the forums.

“This is the final event so I would urge anyone who can to attend and I thank all those who have offered their feedback to date.”

The forum will be a chance for residents to share their experiences with representatives from Hammersmith & Fulham Council, the local NHS and other providers and patient representative groups.

Community healthcare forum

Topics so far have covered everything from booking GP appointments, to use of mental health services and hospital transport.

The last forum is: Wednesday 16 March, Small Hall, Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, London, W6 9JU, 6.30pm-8.30pm

The health forums were launched following on from H&F Council’s release of the Independent Healthcare Commission report, co-authored by Michael Mansfield QC.

The report calls on the NHS to urgently rethink its plans to close acute services at Charing Cross Hospital and elsewhere in west London.
