After last year’s stunning success, plans are already being drawn up for a repeat of the music and art festival for W14.

The Kensington Olympia Festival of Music and the Arts will again be held in the parish church of St. Matthew’s, Kensington Olympia, on the corner of Sinclair, Masbro and Fielding Roads.

The event will be staged between 9 and 15 October, and will include a dinner with dancing to a jazz trio, which last autumn attracted 150 people.

The programme is still being finalised, but one of the highlights will be All the King’s Men, the award-winning male a cappella group from Kings College, London, singing a programme for all the family.

The Oxford Spezzati chorus and orchestra will perform the first concert on the Sunday evening featuring Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang and English choral classics.

There will be an evening of chamber music featuring the Shostakovich cello sonata, and a come-and-sing day on Saturday, culminating in a gala concert, A Night in Italy, under the direction of choral conductor Jeremy Summerly.

There will also be school events, architectural walks, a literary talk, art exhibitions and a poetry evening, and a festival mass on Sunday morning.

Full information will shortly be available on www.kofma.co.uk with all events bookable online.
