Cigbreak Free - A game to help you quit smoking

Smokers in H&F have a new tool in their battle to kick the habit with the launch of a free game for smartphones.

‘Cigbreak Free’ uses medically proven behaviour change techniques to divert smokers’ attention when they feel the urge for a cigarette.

The app is available now for free in H&F following funding from Public Health England. It allows users to record their successes as they swipe the screen to smash virtual dancing cigarettes.

The game is available to download through app stores to any smartphones or tablets.

Cigbreak Free includes a personal quit journal to track your progress and users earn in-game rewards and instructions to help them.

The NHS spends billions each year treating the conditions caused by smoking, and Public Health investment in anti-smoking measures is designed to improve residents’ health and save taxpayers money.

The game was developed in consultation with doctors and experts in quitting smoking.
