Pupils from White City primary schools are invited to take part in a new competition to create exciting designs for a hoarding at Television Centre.

Winners will get the chance to paint their designs on the hoarding, which separates the development from Hammersmith Park. They will be helped by a graffiti artist from charity Somewhereto_.

The three categories for the entries are:

  • The History of White City
  • Hammersmith Park
  • The BBC

“We are really looking forward to seeing some of the creative ideas from local schoolchildren, based on the fantastic history and culture of White City and Television Centre,” said Alistair Shaw, MD of Television Centre.

“The winners will be invited down to the site and artists from local charity Somewhereto_ will be on hand to teach the winners some fun new skills and help paint their designs onto the hoardings. We wish all the children the very best of luck!”

One winner from each category will be chosen by the Television Centre team in February and invited to visit the site in March. All pupils from participating schools are encouraged to submit as many designs as they like. The name of the winning school will be included on the hoarding.

The closing date for submissions is Friday 12 February and winners will be announced later in the month.
