The O2 Shepherds Bush Empire has been closed for the rest of the month after a routine inspection found an issue with its roof.

As a result, the Empire’s owners – the Academy Music Group – closed the Shepherds Bush Green venue on Friday (4 December) for ‘further inspections and safety checks’, a spokeswoman said.

“All tickets will remain valid until further notice for any postponed or rescheduled shows, and any ticketing enquiries should be directed to your point of purchase,” added the Empire spokeswoman.

The Grade-II listed Empire is a 112-year-old theatre designed and built for musical entertainment and variety. A much-loved and iconic venue, it hosts over 180 events per year, attracting some 250,000 visitors.

“We continually invest in all of our theatre venues. Safety and amenities for our customers and staff is paramount and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this unexpected maintenance and repair may cause,” the spokeswoman said.
