It was a fiercely fought contest, but after two weeks of battle, the winners of HammersmithLondon’s I Love Lunch competition have been revealed.

Now in its fourth year, the Hammersmith business improvement district’s culinary competition seeks to find the best lunchtime eateries in Hammersmith by asking workers, residents and visitors to vote in three categories: Best Pub, Best Cafe and Best Restaurant.

The winners are:

  • Best Pub – Hammersmith Ram
  • Best Cafe – Kettle and Crust
  • Best Restaurant – Villagio

With more than 1,600 votes cast this was the most successful year of the competition.

The Hammersmith Ram remains unbeaten in the pub competition despite strong opposition this year from King Street rivals The Swan and Hammersmith newbies the Draft House. Once again, the battle between Wagamama and Villagio went down to the wire, but the Italian restaurant was victorious, claiming its third title. While the newly-relaunched Kettle and Crust beat reigning champions La Petite Bretagne to win Best Cafe.

The competition gives businesses a chance to showcase their culinary delights with the aim of encouraging people to make the most of their lunchtimes by visiting the range of eateries on offer in Hammersmith town centre.
All three winners will be presented with trophies and certificates by Hammersmith & Fulham Mayor, Cllr Mercy Umeh.

As winners, all three will be nominated for the West London Business Awards, to be held later this year.
