Australian comedian Felicity Ward will appear at The Duchess of Cambridge pub
HF ArtsFest is less than three weeks away and events are being booked up fast.
The festival, supported by Hammersmith & Fulham Council, will be the biggest ever and booklets with details of every event from 6 to 12 June are now available.
“The HF ArtsFest team have put together another fantastic programme of events which shows Hammersmith & Fulham has a lot to be proud of,” said Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration.
“Many events are bespoke but others are held throughout the year and this is will be another wonderful introduction to some of the fantastic groups which enrich our borough on a regular basis.”
There are more than 130 events being held by about 400 artists. The programme is now available as a booklet available at Hammersmith Town Hall, libraries, The Masbro Centre, Westfield, The Austin Forum in St Augustine’s Church, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, as well as The V&A in South Kensington and other locations.
“The Arts Fest team and our partners are now getting really excited and gearing up for our biggest ever programme of events,” said HF ArtsFest chair Petrea Owens.
“There’s such a broad range of events, some of which have never been seen before. There’s something that will appeal to everyone and most are free.”
Highlights include:
- A performance by the Addison Singers’ Jazz Choir in Lyric Square, Hammersmith at 7pm on Monday 6 June – free
- The Little Gardener, a play based on the children’s story by Emily Hughes, performed in a glass box in Lyric Square, Hammersmith, between 1pm and 4pm on Tuesday 7 June – free
- Stand-up comedy by Twice as Nice Comedy at the Duchess of Cambridge in Goldhawk Road, Hammersmith, featuring Australian comedian Felicity Ward at 8pm on Wednesday 8 June - £4 in advance/ £5 on the door
- A Riverside walk by William Morris Society in the area which became home to the arts and crafts movement, beginning at Kelmscott House, 26 Upper Mall, Hammersmith at 3pm on Thursday 9 June - £5/ £3 concessions
- Story time and a treasure hunt at Nomad Books, 781 Fulham Road, Fulham, to celebrate 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl, held at 3.45pm on each day of the festival – free.
Volunteers needed
The HF ArtsFest team are looking for volunteer ArtsFest guides who can attend events and answer questions about them, suggest others that people might like to go to and explain the history of ArtsFest and what it’s all about, as well as how to get involved next year.
