New employment guide shows the perks of Park Royal
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 11 April 2006
Park Royal, Europe's largest business park, has launched a new guide aiming to attract potential employees by highlighting the area's prime location and its exciting range of leisure facilities and attractions.
The West London business park, which boasts Diageo, John Lewis and Carphone Warehouse among its 1500 firms, has published the 28-page brochure to showcase the site's accessibility by road, rail and Tube and its array of cultural and leisure amenities, including a nature reserve, a multiplex cinema, the UK's largest ASDA superstore and the new Wembley stadium.
The employment guide has been produced by the Hammersmith & Fulham Visitor Development team in conjunction with the Park Royal Partnership. It will be distributed to businesses with 100 employees or more, as well as the park's recruitment agencies and tourism businesses, to assist them in the recruitment process. The guide is intended to show potential employees that the park, which is located at the hub of Acton, Ealing, Shepherds Bush and Wembley, has as much convenience and character as any big town or central London district, and is a 'destination' that they will be happy to take their friends and family to.
Molly Grayson works as an assistant wig dresser for BBC Resources Ltd, whose Park Royal warehouse contains a million costumes and 12,000 wigs and hairpieces. Says Molly: "I live in Acton and I've never been tempted to move, so for me working in Park Royal is one of the perks of the job. Studios and everything else we need for work are right here and at lunch time I can get out to the cafes and shops at Ealing and Shepherds Bush in just 15 minutes. Ealing is a really buzzy social centre for drinks in the evening - or for sports centres and parks - and when I go into central London after work it's quick and easy on the tube or bus."
Haleem Sadiq is Deputy Manager of the 550-strong Park Royal depot of Bestway, the fastest-growing cash and carry in the world. He says: "I like Park Royal a lot - just like Bestway, it's always on the up. We've got really good restaurants in the Ealing Road and the Acton Megabowl and Park Royal Leisure Centre just down the road. It's exciting to see all the new developments and changes taking place: they give the whole place a dynamic feel."
Ian Beushaw is Head of DVD Authoring at video and media services company ITFC. He says: "I see our Park Royal location as a big plus for the company and for me. In areas like Soho, our business competitors are really on top of each other but this is a very supportive environment that lets us focus on our work. I drive in from Buckinghamshire every day, so my commuting costs are low; I can eat cheaply and very well at lunch times, go to the cinema in the evening or drop in on my favourite bars in Ealing Broadway on my way home. This location couldn’t be better. "
Gurnam Selvarajah, Operations Manager for Park Royal Workforce, says: "It's well known that Park Royal is a major centre of industry and innovation, but this guide aims to demonstrate that it's also a great place to work. There is a real sense of variety and diversity here, with upcoming entrepreneurs rubbing shoulders with multi-national giants, and classic 1930s buildings sitting side-by-side with modern office blocks. As well as being incredibly convenient for people travelling from central London or from the M25, Park Royal has a great nightlife and bags of character - how many other business parks can claim to have a world-famous football stadium, a nature reserve and a Hindu temple? I do hope people will pick up a copy of the guide and find out how much Park Royal has to offer."
