On a budget

West London is good value for money. Whether you are looking for accommodation, cheap eats or free things to do, Fulham has the answer.

Free cultural walking tours

Bishops Park
Stretching along the river, with views over to Putney, this park is also home to Fulham Palace which is where it takes it's name as it was the summer home of the Bishops of London.  There is also a large number of tennis courts, bowling green, paddling pool, playgrounds and a cafe.

Hurlingham Park
Hurlingham Park in the south of Fulham is home to a bowling green, games court, rugby pitches and a pavilion. It will also host Polo in the Park in June 2009, a three day international polo competition, bringing this sport back to West London.

Eel Brook Common
Situated near Fulham Broadway this small common is home to tennis courts, playground and synthetic pitches. It is notable for the fact that in 1883 and 1891, a then amateur team called Fulham FC played their home games here.

The river - Enjoying London’s Rural Thames
London’s Rural Thames stretches from Hampton Court Palace - one of the great icons of Tudor England - to fashionable Chelsea Harbour. Enjoy world-famous attractions in a rural setting of parklands, sumptuous gardens and secluded green spaces. The strand that links them all is The Thames Path National Trail, the continuous, way-marked footpath which flanks the river on either side.

The river is a haven and a welcome retreat for walking, picnicking, boating, bird watching, cycling or simply lying in the sun and watching the world drift by.
See the Down by the river page.
