| This project seeks to raise awareness amongst small and medium sized enterprises that the environment is a business issue. The project provides pratical on-site assistance to businesses by identifying opportunities to improve competitiveness through improving environmental performance. Through this scheme, eligible companies are entitled to free environmental reviews to identify relevant environmental legislation, cost saving opportunites available through improving energy and resource effciency and other actions that can be taken to reduce the environmental impact of their operations. The project also includes an environmental improvemnet grant scheme, providing financial support to local companies. Eligible improvements include: installing clean technology to reduce emissions and increase resource effiency, energy efficient refurbishment, schemes to reduce and recycle waste and investment that will increase productivity and create new employment opportunities. | ||
