Summary
Pupil Mentoring encompasses two projects; 1- Aselu Black Mentoring: Black and Ethnic Minorty (BEM) Year 6 pupils are mentored by positive BEM role models from the local community. Mentors meet with mentees once a week in school and focus on leadership skills, identity and self esteem issues and overcoming barriers to learning. The project aims to address the disproportionate rate of under-achievement of BEM pupils at Key Stage 3. 2- Student Mentoring: Business volunteers mentor students aged (14-18) in order to raise motivation, self esteem and employability skills. The programme aims to empower students to match or better their predicted GCSE scores. Regular training and support is provided for all mentors. For further information contact the Education Business Section on 020 8753 3652
