Christmas Jazz with Claire Martin

Acclaimed as the best ever British jazz singer by Jazz Times Magazine, south-Londoner Claire Martin was born to sing.  Influenced by Ella, Betty Carter and Shirley Horn she possesses a peerless sense of swing, pure tone and a true improviser’s ear, but her love of great lyrics means that she always puts the song first.

Over her 20-year career Claire has won many accolades including British Jazz Awards Rising Star in the mid-nineties and Best Vocalist numerous times.  Regularly touring worldwide her latest album, released in 2007 to rave reviews, was a tribute to the late, great Shirley Horn and 2008 started with a sold out run at Ronnie Scott’s.

We are delighted to welcome Claire to Fulham Palace where amongst her usual well chosen set of jazz classics you can expect a sprinkling of Christmas favourites to warm your stockings.
