Great Hall
Erected by Bishop Fitz James and dating from the 15th Century, the Great Hall features beautiful wooden panelling, smart classical cornicing and a gothic fireplace by William Butterfield. With its grand Steinway piano the Great Hall is a wonderful space for cocktail receptions, dinner or dancing. The room is licensed for weddings and can accommodate up to 100 guests for a civil ceremony/partnership.

Bishop Terrick’s Drawing Room
Designed for Bishop Terrick in 1764, this room was originally used as a withdrawing room and subsequently as a study and library. It now houses the Palace’s contemporary art gallery.  With a classical ornate ceiling and views over the south lawn this elegant room is ideal for smaller wedding ceremonies, meetings and private dining.  This room can be used in conjunction with the adjoining Bishop Terrick Dining Room.

Bishop Terrick Dining Room
With tall Georgian windows and feature fireplace, Bishop Terrick’s Dining Room is popular for intimate dinner parties and small conferences or meetings.  When used in conjunction with the adjoining Bishop Terrick’s Drawing Room it is perfect for pre-dinner drinks or as a lunch or buffet area.

Chaplain’s Garden Marquee
Situated in a private walled garden, our marquee is wonderful for medium to large-sized events.  The Chaplain’s Garden is perfect for drinks before moving into the marquee itself for dinner or dancing.  Well lit and well heated, the versatile marquee can easily be decorated to suit the theme of your event or transformed into a meeting or conference space to your own specifications.

Bishop Howley’s Drawing Room 
Overlooking the Main Lawn, Bishop Howley’s Drawing Room is one of the Palace’s grandest rooms and now houses The Drawing Room Cafe.  Howley’s Drawing Room has direct access to the garden for events in the warmer months and a roaring fire for when the cold sets in.  Together with the adjoining Morning Room it is ideal for cocktail receptions and informal gatherings.  Available for hire by special arrangement.

West Courtyard
Enclosed by picturesque Tudor ranges and with a beautiful fountain at its heart, the West Courtyard is an idyllic spot for welcoming guests during the warmer months and serving drinks prior to lunch or dinner.

East Courtyard
The East Courtyard is a pretty, intimate space and is ideal for a summer cocktail or barbecue when used in conjunction with the Terrick rooms.

Walled Garden
The Walled Garden is available for private hire by special arrangement and is perfect for larger marquees and outdoor events.  Contact the Palace’s Hospitality Manager for details.
