The Education Service

Fulham Palace, a building and site with 5000 years of history, has great relevance to local, London and general history.

The Palace, originally the summer home of the bishops of London, was a country estate in Middlesex. Now in inner London, Fulham Palace gives local city children a unique chance to see a large country house on their doorstep.

A team of knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers interpret the history of the Palace using sessions with costume for the whole class and handling collections.

We have learnt over the years, just how much knowledge of history children absorb from role-play, wearing period costume and  handling objects. All our sessions work by children learning through personal involvement and pleasure.

We cover the National Curriculum at all Key Stages, further and higher education as well as life-long learning.  Primary school sessions usually last for 1 1/2hrs and must be pre booked.
