Information about the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme for H&F residents.

The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme is a UK Home Office scheme that officially launched January 2022.

It works to rehouse Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban’s takeover in 2021 and who are currently living in temporary accommodation across the UK.

What are we looking for?

Hammersmith & Fulham Council are working with the UK Home Office to rehouse Afghan refugees, and we want to work with local landlords to do this.

We’re looking for one-to-four-bedroom self-contained properties available to rent at Local Housing Allowance Rates.

Properties should be available to rent for a minimum of a year and located within the borough.

What do we offer?

Financial support

To support local landlords who offer their housing for this scheme we’re providing financial incentives in line with Capital Letters’ rates.

Renting through the Afghan Resettlement Scheme also provides landlords with guaranteed rent and assured shorthold tenancies for one to three years.

Further financial support for landlords includes a Damage Bond Grant for property owners to cover any property damage.

Landlords may be also eligible for match-funded and non-repayable grants for pre-identified and agreed property refurbishment works.

To find out more about all financial support available, visit our property and procurement schemes page or contact our property team:

Resettlement officers

The council will provide a comprehensive resettlement service to help households maintain their tenancy, look after the landlord’s property, transition into sustainable employment and integrate into UK life.

This will include language support.
